I love this card from Mary in Minsk.  Reading the back was so interesting.

This is one of three embroidery stamps issued by Byelorussian post from the series "Decorative applied art".

  1. Oooh, great :) Such a pleasure - this sculpture is from my hometown :) I am from Polatsk originally, my parents live there :) And this stamp is cute - I've heard of the new series, but it's the first time I'm able to see.

    1. We have a saying whenever something crops up that is coincidental like that - "It's a small world!". It is said to show your surprise that people or events in different places are connected. That saying was in common use in 1900, long before the creation of the Disney ride of that name in 1964. The more recent creation of computers has made the world even smaller.

    2. P.S. The humorist Stephen Wright once said "It may be a small world but I wouldn't want to paint it!"

    3. We have the same sayings too :) The first one sounds like "Spit - and you'll hit an acquaintance" and the second is "The earth is round" - means that people will definitely meet as "the world is small" :)

Welcome. I love it when visitors comment - even if it's only to say "Hi, I've been here!"
