Chinese mailboxes

 Card no 340 – Siggi

My friend Siggi in Germany is helping me to build up a collection of mailboxes and postboxes from around the world.  These are Chinese.

China Post (Chinese: 中国邮政), which is the name used by the State Post Bureau of PRC in business, is the official postal service of the People's Republic of China. China Post is operated by the State Post Bureau which is both a regulatory authority and government owned enterprise. Thus it is responsible for the regulation of the national postal industry and the management of national postal enterprises.

The current postal service in the PRC was established in 1949 but some form of postal service in China can be dated back to the Shang Dynasty which dates back to somewhere between 1766 BC and 1046 BC.

Welcome. I love it when visitors comment - even if it's only to say "Hi, I've been here!"
