Card no 353 - EJ
This
card is a maxi-card – i.e. it has a stamp on the front which reflects the same
subject as the card itself. In this case
the stamp is a picture of the same item – a British stamp from the 1983
engineering series. It is also a First
Day of Issue card.
EJ puts lots of used stamps on his cards, effectively using
them as stickers. It’s a great idea.
First of all there was this Tanzanian stamp Trioceros
jacksonii (Jackson's Chameleon or the Three-horned Chameleon). Two more from the
same series of cards were on a previous card.
There was more wildlife on these stamps from Surinamm Korea,
Dutch Antilles, South Africa and Kenya.
My favourite was the above cinnamon-chested bee-eater
(Merops oreobates) from Kenya.
The stamps that actually got the card to me from EJ were these
Christmas ones from 2011.
