Trains and trams are not a subject I particularly collect so I more often send them than receive them. This is one I sent to Yoshio in my early days of Postcrossing.
This is one I sent to JarieLyn, an acquaintance in the USA who collects train postcards. You may recognise it - it's the Hogwarts Express from Harry Potter. It runs up part of the West coast of Scotland and Partner-who-loves-tea and I saw it a couple of years ago.
1564 - From JarieLyn in the USA.
1526 From Natallia in Belarus - a super card which the trains merely create the background for.
I always like the giant US locos, the blue against the cloud filled sky is rather nice. I have some interior views of the royal saloon somewhere, luxury travel.
ReplyDeleteLove the Hogwarts Express :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the last one you gotta love whether you're a train enthusiast or not :)
I'd like to travel in the Hogwarts Express one day!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite postcard is the last one, however. As I wrote elsewhere, there is a romantic side of railways trips...
Hi John, I love classic trains. My postcard collection may be a bit like JarieLyn's. These are some neat cards! My favorite in this group is the Hogwarts Express. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi John, thank you for sharing your train postcards. It's also a subject I don't particularly collect. Your Hogwarts Express postcard is beautiful with the landscape in the background.
